Megachem was formed in 1988 by a group of industrial chemists to be a leading chemical manufacturer. Its aim is to produce chemicals for the domestic market, by replacing specialty products currently imported into Australia, and also to export its products overseas. Megachem is now exporting to more than 12 different countries.
In January 1996, the company moved into a new purpose built factory which can produce specialty reaction products and blends, either as liquid or as microbead. At full capacity, it is capable of producing 250 metric tonnes per month. At appropriate stages the quality of materials and products are rigorously controlled. Quality assurance is a fundamental part of the company’s operations and a quality system to ISO 9002 is being established.
From its earliest beginning, Megachem could be relied upon to meet customers needs and expectations by being able to produce special chemicals and products whether to perform a particular function or to meet a price, while still retaining the highest level of quality. The company is committed to undertake co-operative research and development with customers and, in addition to its own expertise and technology, has access to specialist facilities at universities and research organisations.
To date, Megachem’s history has been a short and strong one. Megachem is now building a long and strong future.
